Sabbath Reflection: Christ’s Letter

Letter of Christ

Did you know that you’re a letter to the world for Christ? You carry the Light of Jesus with you throughout this dark world to shed light on corruption, deceptions, and false spiritual practices that don’t lead to our One True God. How have you “sent” yourself to the mailboxes of people’s lives around you? Do people have to “return to sender” because you don’t accurately reflect in your life The Redeemer, so they don’t know who you are?

This Sabbath, particularly after Yom Kippur which symbolized Jesus’ blood atonement for all who seek reconciliation with Father God, reflect on the fact that if you have given your entire existence to Jesus you are an epistle to the world. Recognize today that you have been stamped with approval by God, sealed by the Holy Spirit of God, and are to go forth with Gospel and character of the Son of God.

Honestly, what good is a letter if it sits neglected on your desk surface? It’s a dying world out there in these last days. Prepare yourself to be mailed & spread the Truth of God’s Holy Word to the world around you!

Yom Kippur 2015: Are You In or Are You Out??

Exodus 30:10

And Aaron shall make an atonement upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements: once in the year shall he make atonement upon it throughout your generations: it is most holy unto the LORD.

Yom Kippur is otherwise known as the Day of Atonement, which is the 2nd Holy Feast of the 3 Fall Feasts of God. Out of the total 7 Holy Feasts spanning from Passover in the spring to Sukkot/Feast of Tabernacles in the Fall, Yom Kippur is the most solemn and pivotal High Holy Day, as it is when the entire nation of God were to have their sins atoned for. An earlier post spoke on the significance of the 3 Fall Feasts as being not simply literal Old Testament feasts, however also significant for Post-Christ era Believers for its spiritual symbolism and future Kingdom work by Jesus’ return.

Interestingly enough, this year’s Yom Kippur is uniquely special beyond its solemn context: it happens to be on the Fall Equinox on 9/23/15 (though the feast begins sunset 9/22 through sunset 9/23), which is also the day the False Prophet Pope Francis sets foot in D.C. for the first time, AND has its own trumpet to herald in a Biblical Jubilee year! That’s a super Holy Day with a few special convergences that makes it of particular interest to learn about and meditate on what God is using this year’s Yom Kippur to teach us.

Leviticus 23:28

And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the LORD your God.

From Rosh Hashanah/Feast of Trumpets through Yom Kippur was the “10 Days of Awe”, where one would prepare themselves and their households to have their sins confessed, atoned for, and rebuked by Yom Kippur. Unlike Passover, where individual sins were atoned through a lamb sacrifice, Yom Kippur was a NATIONAL atonement day for all inhabitants with God’s people for their sins to be forgiven. If someone did not have their sins sorted on Yom Kippur with the nation, they were cut off physically & spiritually from being a part of God’s people. Therefore, it was a major time of repentance and reconciliation with God, as the next Feast of Sukkot would mean celebrating God’s presence dwelling in delight with them.

Leviticus 16:16

And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness

Therefore, consider where we are as a nation and world with our relationship, if any, with the Heavenly Creator. It doesn’t take much to review our secular environment and private lives to see that we have fallen so far from God & His best for us that we are ripe for judgement. The intensity and breath of sins pervading our world is completely in line with Bible prophecy for the last days of this earth and warrants epic rectifying. However, as deserving as we are of the consequences of our sins, God is a Merciful God who does NOT delight in the wicked perishing, but delights in repairing our brokenness and shattered relationship with Him. He is the God of “second chances” (although, not for long), and provided us with a road-map on how to repair things from our end with Him.

Here is the connection for Hebrews (literal Israel) and Biblical Christians (spiritual Israel, grafted into the promises to Abraham’s seed via Christ) on Yom Kippur:

Old Testament Yom Kippur

Leviticus 17:11

For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for itis the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

Isaiah 1

11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.16Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;17Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.18Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: 20But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spokenit.

New Testament/Current Yom Kippur Link

Hebrews 2:17

(personal/individual Implications)

Therefore in all things he had to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people

Hebrews 9:11-12

But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Future Yom Kippur (Global Implications)

Revelation 12:10-11

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Can you now see the significance of the Day of Atonement from the Old Testament through even the future 2nd return of The Messiah? Earthly & spiritual events nearly always parallel. God noted that it is the blood that carries life in it and is therefore precious and was what atoned for the sins of individuals and the nation. However, it wasn’t meant to be in vain, as God lamented in Isaiah 1, for those who took for granted the meaning behind Yom Kippur. God wants GENUINE revival, a GENUINE relationship & repentance with Him…He wants our hearts to truly desire turning all areas of our lives AWAY from sins and have them atoned for. How do we have them atoned for? Well, God already said in Isaiah goats & bulls aren’t a delight to Him anymore. Our works by our own means can’t do it.

BUT, One who was, is and forever is PERFECT already atoned for ALL of our sins, and that Perfect Lamb’s blood was of Jesus Christ/Yeshuah! Just as the High Priest with the atonement blood could enter the Most Holies of Holies through the veil, Jesus on the Cross ripped that same veil apart so that THROUGH HIM our sins could not only be atoned for, but we could enjoy God’s presence! ONLY through Jesus covering our lives with his blood can we “cross over” to God in reconciliation, as any other route or on our own we can NOT enter God’s Holy Presence, lest we die! We on our own are littered with sin, and sin cannot co-habit with God as He is sinless. Other “paths” to God are not paths, but death traps, as all other spiritual practices do NOT carry the atoning blood of Jesus Christ to cover the path to God; they can NOT “cross over”, nor pass the spiritual veil!

THIS is why Yom Kippur is so essential to understand! It highlights the very reason why Jesus Christ’s sacrifice & resurrection was not only necessary, but it was the ONLY door back to God! It was successful and thorough, ONE time sacrifice to atone for ALL who from then on would simply accept him! Yom Kippur shows that you cannot have God without Jesus’ redemptive work, meaning simply believing in God is NOT enough! The KEY is Jesus, God Incarnate, redeeming mankind through His blood atonement! It is THEN that we have the life that is “in the blood”, but from the eternal source of Jesus!

It’s so simple to cover you life with Jesus’ blood to atone for your sins, as you just confess your sins to God, repent in earnest from your sins, and accept Jesus as your Savior & to take your life from the ownership of Satan to the ownership of God through Christ. However, many people don’t want that simple salvation. They tarnish the beautiful sanctification of Our Lord and reject him. The sad thing is, this gift of Yom Kippur won’t last much longer as spiritual probation time runs out. As noted in Revelations 12, there is a global Yom Kippur coming that only those covered in The Lamb’s/Jesus’ blood can “overcome” the power of Satan. If you’re not covered in The Blood, you WILL be cut out of God’s Kingdom.

Therefore, take time this Yom Kippur to truly let God’s Word marinate within your soul, conscience, spirit, and life on its profound meanings. Realize how important it is to have your sins atoned for and by whom. Understand that without Jesus’ blood, you remain outside God’s spiritual camp and cannot enter otherwise. His Blood is the password to unlock your eternal life and restoration with God, and it’s freely given. But, you must CHOOSE it, reach out, and take it for yourself.

You don’t have to wait until 9/23/15 to atone for your sins, you can pray and invite Jesus into your life right now & be grateful for His blood!

Thank You, Abba God, for the wonderful gift of Yeshuah! Enjoy the following short study on Yom Kippur by Jonathan Cahn:

The Still, Small Voice: Sabbath Meditation

1 Kings 19

11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.13 And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?

The Lord is usually not where you think He’d be or expect Him. Drowned out in the tornadoes of your life, buried under the broken pieces of your soul, competing with the shattering earthquake of your spiritual warfare, blinded by the raging fire in your flesh…there is THAT “still small voice”. Elijah realized the Lord spoke to him in an unexpected medium…not in the wind, earthquake, or fire, but in a calm whisper. Elijah had enemies, he was running for his life despite living for righteousness and solidarity to God. In that crucially burdensome moment in his life, Abba ministered serenity to Elijah plight and delivered him from his enemies, rewarding his loyal reverence for The One True God.

As Sabbath approaches this evening, what calamities have distracted you from your peace in your Lord, your Refuge? What issues this past week have filled your life’s cup so that His Holy Spirit had no room to pour in? What sins committed have produced the loud screams of guilt & shame to deafen your forgiveness? Were you looking for your Savior to approach you with thunders and lightening? When you’re in such a soul-threatening condition in life, your Redeemer isn’t going to rush crashing into your life. He made you,, He knows you, He loves you, and He knows what you need when your spirit is threatened: His still, small voice.

Isaiah 41:13

For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

Don’t look for Him in the pomp & stance of the traditions of men, or vanity whirling in parades of religiosity. He’s right next to you, in fact, dwelling inside of you if you’ve invited Him into your life as your Savior. When the world is falling all around you, anchor your heart and spirit in His stillness. He is your Fortress & Rock, you shall NOT be moved!

Ezekiel 36:27

And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them

Psalm 18:2

The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Psalm 16:8

I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

This Sabbath, enter into His Rest and reunite with your Everlasting Safety, Yeshuah/Jesus Christ. Lay your burdens before Him and await your deliverance!

Worship Music Reflections

Sharing the blessing of worship in music. I hope you will be as moved in singing praise to Our Lord as I was! It’s a beautiful mix of Messianic Hebrew & English worship lyrics, though the written lyrics weren’t provided in this video. Nonetheless, worshiping Our Savior is beyond pleasure…and, we might as well get some good practice for our heavenly home! 🙂 sunset-585334_640

Where Does YOUR Help Come From?

After I spent some time in prayer with Abba God today, He brought me to this Psalm that nurtured my spirit, so I felt to share it with you:

Psalm 121

I Will Lift Up My Eyes to the Hills
1{A Song of degrees.} I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.

6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Do you believe as David did that your Lord is your Keeper, even right in this very wicked world? Don’t do the hard work of trying to be your own “keeper”, or yield that position to someone else who’s not worthy. Remember what Cain said in response to God after murdering his brother Abel: “Am I my brother’s keeper?” (Genesis 4:9)

Beware of who you yield your care to. The world has a “prince of the air” (Ephesians 2:2), Satan, that you’ll perish in trusting your spiritual (and rest of) life to. The Lord said He is your Refuge, Shelter, Redeemer, and Shepherd. Let Him be that for you, don’t deprive Him of that. It honors Him to let Him take complete care of you!

God’s Fall Feasts Revisited

Dear friend, did you know that The Heavenly Father has ordained Feast Days, let alone 7 of them? Do you know that there is a difference between secular holi-days and God’s Holy Days? I included a link to where God lists and explains the literal activities of His Feasts in Leviticus 23:

Leviticus 23 God’s Feast/Holy Days

Lev 23:2

Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them,Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.

What you should note from this reading in the Old Testament are several things:

  1. God Himself proclaimed they are HIS Feasts, aka NOT simply “Jewish” feasts, or from Moses or originating from any mortal
  2. God lists the 7 Holy Times and also ADDS that the weekly 7th Day Sabbath/Shabbat is all from HIM and to be acknowledged
  3. To go along with the above point, God shows us His associated number “7”; the theme of “7”: 7th day Sabbath, 7 Feasts, 7-year cycle ending in the Shemitah year, 7 cycles of 7 years=49 years with the 50th year following as the Jubilee year
  4. There are 4 Spring-time Feasts (Passover-Feast of Weeks) and 3 Fall-time Feasts (Trumpets-Dwelling)
  5. The activities within the Feasts in the Old Testament were literal, but also hold symbolic meanings
  6. The Feasts were not only for the Jews/Hebrews/literal Israel, but for also “strangers/foreigners” who also joined the Hebrews to honor The Lord

Therefore, if God created and ordained these Feasts and they were meant for significant meaning for ALL those who honored Him along with Israel, then what do they hold in meaning for us now, especially for the Christian walk?

Well, it may surprise you! For starters, God through these Feasts is highlighting His spiritually holy calendar…they denote a series of special events where He’s calling His people to pay unique attention to pivotal moments in their spiritual walk with Him. In fact, Passover is 14 days after the 1st day of the 1st month, aka, the actual New Year=1st day of the year in the Spring when new life grows! That’s just one example, and there’s more to share on that in another post…

But, since God established in Leviticus 23 how significant the Feasts are and their timing of special attention, what would the Fall time Feasts denote for us? Well, just as Spring time is the “beginning”, or renewal time of the year, Fall is the “winding down” time, or the nearing to the “end”, or “winter” of our lives! It can even be broadened into the “fall” or “nearing the end time” of the world’s “life”. Not only is our spiritual life now transitioning into a purification stage of finalizing our decisions to fully submit our lives under The Redeemer, Jesus Christ/Yeshuah, but also the world is being ushered into its final stage on both the physical and spiritual levels. As we see the corrupt world around us fulfill the last pages of Biblical prophecy, we know deep down that we’re nearing a spiritual “earthquake” that will “spit out” the lukewarm and split the “hot” vs. the “cold” for Jesus in this Laodicea time (Rev. 3:15-16).

Therefore, through God’s Fall Feasts, He’s alerting us to the change in our spiritual seasons, that first brisk cool wind swirling around before the harsh bite of Winter where most life dies and few survive to enjoy another Spring! The Feast of Trumpets/Rosh Hashanah/Yom Teruah then Yom Kippur/Atonement Feast, then lastly Sukkot/Dwelling-Tabernacle Feast are all Holy Days occurring in the Fall season with warnings (Trumpets) to revisit and return through repentance to God through Jesus (Atonement), to then enjoy “Emmanuel” or “God with us” dwelling within our tents/presence (Tabernacles)! If we do not heed His alarm for us to return to pure relationship and worship in Spirit (John 4:24), we will enter the “winter” of our lives and not survive past that point to enjoy His Son’s return, or Spring!

The 1st post-Christ Believers were Hebrews (along with others who converted on Pentecost) and all maintained God’s Feasts in acknowledgement, as Jesus did. Why have we millennia later forgotten their importance? If God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, why wouldn’t He still reveal His own Feasts as important to us today?? How can we fully understand Jesus’ work during his 1st coming and the rest of the New Testament, if we forget/neglect/ignore the Old Testament? God’s whole Word is Holy and True, and God laid out clues in the Feasts for symbolic spiritual meaning today! The Old and New is reconciled, just as you are reconciled and grafted into shared inheritance of God’s promises as being Abraham’s spiritual seeds (Galatians 3:29).

Therefore, as we are now underway into God’s Fall Feast with the Trumpet Feast having already begun Sept.14, revisit the deeper meaning of Leviticus 23 in what God is wanting you to be alert to (interestingly enough, this year’s Fall Equinox actually “falls” on Yom Kippur 9/23!! *pun intended, hee*). Use this time to slow down and reflect on areas of your spiritual walk with God and allow God to show you where repentance and renewal is needed before it’s too late. There is joy in reflection & rededication, especially when Your Father ordains it and wants to personally you draw closer to Him!

Here’s a few enlightening video links illustrating the beauty and significance of the Fall Feasts. May they bless you richly!
